REBEKAH ALLEN, LCSW, BC-TMH
My pledge to you as the client is to offer my unconditional respect and support through whatever life is throwing your way. Many obstacles can arise from transitional periods in life, and I find deep meaning in walking with others through these times that are often challenging or overlooked.
My approach to therapy is shaped by experiences in community mental health, hospice grief care, substance abuse treatment, and university counseling. I have had the privilege of providing care for clients ages six through one hundred and one, with my most recent work being at the University of Mississippi Counseling Center.
Sometimes words are inadequate to detangle the web of emotions and sensations that we carry. Perhaps it’s a point of chronic pain, spikes of anxious tension, or a knot in the stomach after a big change. I draw on evidence based techniques from somatic psychotherapy to help you move through what you’re feeling--mind and body.
Other times, thoughts may run away in loops after a loss or difficult life event. With compassion and curiosity, we can explore cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to build your mental strength and choose thoughts that align with your values.
My invitation to you is to step into the light with your story. In this space, there is no such thing as “too much” or “not enough.” You are welcome to come as you are, go at your pace, and know I will be on your team through every step.
